Birds, with their enchanting songs and spectacular color patterns, invite us to explore the woods, fields and garden spaces of our natural landscapes. We can find avian entertainment in every habitat, and in every month, when we venture out to appreciate what nature has to offer!
Spritely chickadees, rambunctious hummingbirds, and mysterious owls are showcasing fascinating behaviors and adaptations during this seasonal focus on creating and rearing the next generation. The variety of birds found in every habitat offers wonderful opportunities to immerse ourselves in the natural world, experiencing the benefits of stress reduction, increased focus and joy, as well as meaningful connections with each other.
Along our meandering route, we will also discuss and examine:
- New research behind bird behavior and communication.
- Tips and techniques to identify birds through field marks, song and habitat location.
- Nesting, migration, and winter survival strategies of our resident and non-resident birds
- Easy techniques for daily connection with our natural world to help manage stress and overwhelm, increasing our overall wellbeing!
Come away from our morning together with a new understanding and appreciation of the role birds play in healthy habitats-and some new connections to other curious learners!
