General Class Information

The Let’s Go Fishing program offers angler education events that are designed to teach people of all ages with little or no fishing experience. This volunteer driven educational program covers introductory fishing skills, tackle and equipment, knot tying, casting, fish identification, outdoor safety, rules and regulations and much more! Certified Fishing Instructors will provide you with the knowledge and skills to have a fun, safe and enjoyable outing on the water. This two-part program has both a classroom session as well as an on the water experience.

The classroom portion covers introductory fishing skills and lessons that will prepare you for your upcoming on the water experience. The program provides all of the gear, tackle and bait for participants. The location of the fishing experience will be cover in the first session and is usually a short distance away at a local pond or lake. While taking part in this educational program, all registered participants are exempt from holding a fishing license while taking part in the program. 

  • All participants must be registered in order to attend and be covered by the fishing license exemption.  
  • Must attend both program sessions.
  • Ages 8 and up, individuals 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Participants must provide their own transportation to the on the water fishing experience.

About the Location

Parking is off of Middle Street right next to Kilkenny pub. Use the Middle Street Entrance that says Elevator Door take the Elevator to the 3rd floor. Once on the third floor turn to the left and enter the Town Hall Auditorium
