General Class Information

Wildlife prepare for the winter by migrating south, eating more and storing food, and settling in for a long nap.  What about you?  Here’s your chance to prepare, by taking a 3-hour workshop to learn how to incorporate winter wildlife ecology into your teaching.

Educators (formal and non-formal) are invited to join NH Fish and Game on January 26 for a 3-hour workshop (9am – 12pm) on how wildlife survive New Hampshire’s winter.  This workshop is for educators of children in grades K-12.  Educators will experience several hands-on activities from the Below Zero Activity Guide, published by the Canadian Wildlife Federation.  All participants will receive a copy of this 200+ page activity guide upon completion of the workshop.

Workshop participants will learn about the different strategies New Hampshire’s wildlife undertake to survive the winter and will experience hands-on activities that incorporate this information through art, math, science, and physical education.  This workshop will include both in-classroom learning as well as some time outside – please dress for the weather.

The cost for the workshop is $35.00.  Once registered, participants will receive an email with instructions on how to submit payment.
